Postponement of AGM June 2020

Updated: Jun 5, 2020

I am sure this message will not come as a surprise given the exceptional circumstances of the Global pandemic.

Your Committee has determined that it would be impossible to hold the AGM scheduled for June whilst complying with social distancing guidelines. So, please note the postponement to some future date which, I suspect, will be no sooner than September.

This means that we will be in breach of Item 7.1 of our Constitution which requires that we hold the AGM in June or within four weeks thereafter. However, Item 12.3 of the Constitution empowers the Committee to make changes to the Constitution and I hope all members will agree that in exercising this power we are acting reasonably in the circumstances.

We will hold the AGM as soon as it is possible to do so without breaching Government guidelines. In the meantime, I intend to produce a written report of the activities of S17NWA during the 2019-2020 year and this will be sent electronically to members in June.
